You Can Create Tomorrow
With the simple use of imagination, you can create a better, inspiring tomorrow. Designing a visual representation to communicate the message of bringing something to life.
When I was growing up, most of my days were spent at my grandparents' house. I remember spending the afternoons with Grandma; she would make me a healthy lunch, with a cold glass of chocolate milk. We would sit side by side on the couch, enjoying our meals and watching cartoons. Later in the day, we would always find the time to color another picture in my coloring book.
Spending the whole day at Grandmas each day suddenly came to an end when I started school that fall. Even though I missed the time with Grandma, I was excited to start school and to have a whole class period just for art. I had an art class every year throughout Elementary School, and by the seventh grade, I knew I was in love with art.
Now that I am seventeen years young and a senior in High School, I have learned that there are so many careers out there involving art. I've looked into numerous types of careers having to do with art, and I have finally decided that I want to be a Graphic Designer.
I am looking forward to encompass a number of artistic and professional skills to expand my use of visual communication. The use of colors, photographs, illustrations, font styles, and other graphics inspires me to tell the world a story. Also to persuade, inform, and entertain the public with creative designs.
I'm excited to start working with clients, and getting to know who the target audience is going to be. To design and prepare rough drafts; showing style, visuals, and the layout to be used. Then being able to present several of those rough drafts to the clients, seeing the looks on their faces, and interacting with them to make a final decision.
Not only can I work very well independently, but I also work well with others. It would be a great opportunity to work in a team of copywriters, illustrators, and photographers. As many other graphic designers specialize in certain areas of design, I would love the chance to find out more about myself and where it is my interests would specialize.
I have already taken the first steps to become a well-educated, Graphic Designer. While still attending High School; I have studied English, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Psychology. I was at the top of my Technology Applications class, where I received a Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Office Specialist Certifications. I am now also attending the Saginaw Career Complex, where I am involved in a graphic arts program.
Although my career of being a Graphic Designer is just now beginning, I am very excited and interested to be a participant in the art field for the upcoming future. I'm looking forward to going to college to begin my dream; because if a person can imagine it, they can not only inspire it, but also create it.
